Armed with a degree in Editorial Journalism, I began my writing career at newspapers in Washington state. I soon decided I wanted to write about food, but I needed to learn the fine points of cooking first. I moved to Paris to apprentice at the renowned cooking school, La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine. With a Grand Diploma in hand, I opened a small café in Paris and later embarked on a successful writing career. I have nine books to my credit, and continue to free-lance for American publications.
I’ve appeared as a guest on numerous TV and radio programs. These include Good Morning America, National Public Radio in the United States, and FR3 and Radio Bleu in France. I am a regular columnist for France Today, where my food column "French Kitchen", appears in each issue. My magazine credits include Gourmet, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Cooking Light, Travel & Leisure, The New York Times and more.
