Q. I've never taken a cooking class before. Is this course
going to be too difficult for me?
A.
No. Though trained as a chef in the classic French tradition, Susan's courses
are specially designed with the home cook in mind, using techniques anyone can
master. Susan is an experienced cooking instructor, and can work with each participant
to maximize their learning, regardless of their skill level.
Q. I don't speak French. Are there classes in English?
A. Yes! My courses are in English unless otherwise noted.
Q.I want to practice my French at the same time I take a class. Is that possible?
A. Yes! Please use my Contact form to let me know of your interest.
Q. I love to cook but my wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend
(etc.) doesn't really want to take the course. Can s/he participate in meals
without being in the classes?
A. Yes. The Normandy region offers the
traveling companion plenty to do while the participant is involved in the course,
and meals can be taken with the class participants. See my Guest Eater page for details. Due to the limited space of the cooking studio in Paris classes, my guest eater program is not available there.
Q. Where is On Rue Tatin located?
A. While Susan does move to Paris to teach cooking classes thoughout the year, On Rue Tatin itself is located in Louviers, France

before the class begins. Any suggestions?
A. Students enthusiastically recommend
reading On Rue Tatin, Susan's award winning book which describes life
in a small village in Normandy. Informative and amusing, it will help set the
context for your week at On Rue Tatin.
One-Day Classes in Paris
Q. I see that Susan is offering One Day Classes in Paris. How early do I need to sign up for these?
A. You need to sign up as soon as you know your dates in Paris, as they fill quickly.
Q. What is the level of Susan's One Day Classes in Paris?
A. Susan orients her classes to the skill level of the participants. If several skill levels are represented, each one is addressed, so that everyone feels comfortable.
Q. What should I wear to the Paris cooking class?
A. Dress nicely - Paris merits it — but be sure if you are taking the morning class that you wear comfortable shoes for walking through the market.
Q. If I want to bring a group for a One Day Class in Paris, is there a special rate?
A. No. The price for a One Day Class is very reasonable and there are no special prices available.

Q. I'm going to be in France, and though I can't take the
week-long class I would enjoy meeting Susan. Is this possible?
A. Yes. Susan's One Day Classes in Paris and her French
Country Lunches are the answer. You'll enjoy time with Susan either in Paris where you will cook and eat with her, or in Normandy where she will prepare you an exquisite meal, serve it in her lovely home, and you will meet other enthusiastic diners from around the world.
Q. I want to pay in dollars instead of euros. How do I do
that?
A.The class prices for On Rue Tatin are listed in euros.
If you prefer, you may send a check in US dollars drawn
from a US bank, a US cashier's check in dollars or wire transfer
from any bank, Please send the U.S. dollar equivalent of the euro price, using the exchange rate in effect at the time you write your check. To find the exchange rate, please refer to XE.com.
